WAS THE GOSPEL TAKEN FROM THE EARTH
DURING THE DARK AGES AND RESTORED IN 1830?

Paul States, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel … how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once: … After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also …” In another place, Paul wrote, “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not … BUT IF OUR GOSPEL BE HID, IT IS HID TO THEM THAT ARE LOST: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, BUT CHRIST JESUS THE LORD: AND ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” Paul also declared, “For I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL OF CHRIST: FOR IT IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION TO EVERY ONE THAT BELIEVETH; to the Jews first, and also to the Greek.” (1 Cor. 15:1 -8, 2 Cor. 4:1-5 and Rom. 1:16).

Peter wrote to the scattered saints, “But the word of the Lord ENDURETH FOR EVER. AND THIS IS THE WORD WHICH BY THE GOSPEL IS PREACHED UNTO YOU.” (1 Pet. 1:22).

The gospel, the good tidings of a Saviour or the Christ-message. has never been taken from the earth. God in the beginning declared the promise of this Savior, then witnessed it both in the law and by the prophets. (See Tit. 1:2, John 5:30, Luke 24:44 and Acts 3:20-26). Since Christ came and sent the disciples to preach the gospel in all the world (Mk. 162:15), the knowledge of their testimony of Christ, His death, His resurrection and His teachings has never been taken from the earth.

Those who view the gospel, the church and the authority to minister for Christ as being taken from the earth during an apostasy in the so-called “dark ages” teach the “concept of the bringing back to earth (in 1830) of a divinely commissioned priesthood, contemporary revelation, and a church organization as well as doctrinal principles.” In another place they write, “To administer that primitive GOSPEL RESTORED IN LATTER DAYS, the Lord delivered from heaven to chosen men by angelic hands the holy priesthood, giving them power and authority to officiate in the preaching of the word, the administering of its ordinances, and in the government of the affairs of the church, which he made the repository and administrator of that gospel.” “ …with sacred ordinances, ceremonies, and gifts, all being established within a Christ-centered organization known as his church, for administration and application to human souls for their salvation and eternal life.” (Question Time, Herald House, Vol. 2, page 288; Vol. 1, pages 337 and 216).

May God help those who are trusting in restored priesthood, restored gospel, and restored church to see THE ORDER OF MELCHISEDEC” “…HE IS ABLE ALSO TO SAVE THEM TO THE UTTERMOST THAT COME UNTO GOD BY HIM, SEEING HE EVER LIVETH TO MAKE INTERCESSION FOR THEM.” For “as many AS RECEIVED HIM, TO THEM GAVE HE THE POWER TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD, even to them that believe on his name.” (Heb. 6:20, Heb. 7:24 and John 1:12).

With Paul we too can write, “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift — our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ, given in love to die for the sins of the world.”
