Human history took an unfortunate turn when Adam and Eve allowed themselves to be misled by the serpent, causing them to be the first people to disobey God. Suddenly we no longer were part of His family despite His desire for us to be so.
Fortunately, this act of disobedience did not surprise an all-knowing God. He put into action His plan for our reconciliation with Him, which found its ultimate solution in His son, Jesus.
But despite the Old Testament of the Bible telling us about a forthcoming Savior, and the New Testament telling us about His birth, life, death and resurrection, many of us over the centuries have reinterpreted God’s word for our own purposes. As a result, we have lost sight of who Jesus is and what it means to be a Christian so that now, when a person says that they are a Christian, one must ask them to define what they mean.
The articles here seek to help one clarify who the Biblical Jesus was, why He came to Earth and how His death and resurrection were part of God’s plan to reconcile us to Him. They will also give examples of false teachings about Jesus which are found in the churches whose doctrines originated with Joseph Smith, Jr.
